Seb's first winner was Band On The Run trained by Brian McMahon at Pontefract on 12th June 1990 and he hasn't looked back since. Seb's biggest success to date was in the Irish 2000 Guineas riding Bachelor Duke to victory and giving him his first Classic win.
His style has won him many plaudits because he never gives up and is so strong in the saddle. This has made him popular with punters and fellow jockeys alike. Here is a quote from racing pundit Steve Mellish that describes Seb's style perfectly 'He makes fewer mistakes than most and always takes the sensible option'.
Seb and Jamie Spencer shared the 2007 Flat jockeys' championship, both riding 190 winners. "It's just a brilliant feeling as I've been trying for the past seven or eight years and my dream has finally come true. All I have to do is ride the horses and a lot of people deserve credit for everything that I have been able to achieve this year."
