Seb Sanders passed the 50-winner mark for the season as he drove home a double at Bath.

Sanders started the week on 49 but he added to his tally aboard Straffan and Vamp at the West Country track.

His first success of the day came aboard Straffan in the two-year-old Selling Stakes, with Sanders just holding on from the fast finishing favourite Glasson Lodge.

He followed that up by taking the three-year-old Maiden Stakes over a mile-and-a-quarter for the second year running.

Frankie Dettori dictated the pace on Mouftari but Sanders was always handy on Vamp, who stayed on stoutly inside the final furlong to repel the revived challenge of the long-time leader.

Dettori himself was in the winners' enclosure at Bath as he took the opening race on the card - the two-year-old Maiden Stakes - on Brian Meehan's Annatalia in facile fashion.

The charismatic Italian was later denied in the final strides of the Grosvenor Casinos Handicap as the favourite Todlea was outpointed by Ember Days near the line.

Up at Musselburgh, champion jockey hopeful Daryll Holland took advantage of chief rival Kieren Fallon having the afternoon off to close the gap at the top of the standings by one.

Trainer Meehan was enjoying an across the card brace as Holland took Alpaga Le Jomage past the post in front at the eighth time of asking.

The easiest winner at the Scottish track proved to be in the shortest race as Zarzu romped away with the Peter Walker Group Le Garcon D'Or Handicap over five furlongs in the hands of Richard Thomas.

Kevin Darley is always the main man to follow in the north and he rewarded his many followers by taking the last race on Pearl Of York.
